Description
Family Bible of Artist William H. Welch, William Welch was an internationally known watercolor artist who referred to his work as "Academic Impressionism". Welch worked out of Key West, but also spent time living in South Jersey and was a member of the National Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Watercolor Club (Signature Member), the Artist's Association of Nantucket, and the Copley Society of Boston. A frequent visitor to Europe, during the last decade of his life he followed in the 19th century impressionist's tradition of drawing inspiration from natural beauty as he traced a path through the continent, rendering scenes with expressive passion for light and color. Welch's work has been featured in prominent galleries along the East coast such as Chadd's Ford Art Gallery in Chadd's Ford, PA as well as the Stone Soup Gallery and Frangiapani Gallery in Key West, Florida.
